Cooking with the Kids- Crazy for stuffed meatballs

Grab the kiddos and cook together in this fun, hands-on family class at The Mix at Columbus State.

Chef-instructor Shawnie Kelley will guide adults and kids step by step through classic comfort food made from scratch. You’ll work together to prepare mozzarella-stuffed meatballs simmered in homemade marinara, along with parmesan breadsticks perfect for dipping. For dessert, the class will finish with an ooey-gooey cast iron skillet chocolate chip cookie-brownie that’s made to share.

After cooking, you’ll sit down and enjoy the meal you created together, along with an included beverage.

This class is designed to build kitchen confidence, teamwork, and skills while keeping things relaxed and fun. Be prepared to laugh, cook, and encourage your budding chef.

• Children ages 7 and older
• An adult must accompany all children
• Adults and children cook together at the same workstation

• Registration fee includes one adult and one child
• One additional child may be added for an additional fee
• Space is limited to keep the class interactive

• Comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting a little messy
• Closed-toe shoes required
• Long hair tied back
• Optional to bring:

  • A small step stool if your child needs extra height at the table
• Adult-sized aprons are provided

No. This class is beginner-friendly and instructor-led.

Are ingredients and equipment provided?
Yes. All ingredients, tools, and equipment are included.

Yes. You’ll enjoy the full meal you prepare at the end of class.
