Hands-on Cape Cod cooking featuring seafood, chowder, shellfish techniques, and classic New England desserts.
About this Event

Bring the flavors of New England’s coast into your kitchen in this hands-on class inspired by the classic seaside cooking of Cape Cod. From comforting chowders to Portuguese-influenced seafood traditions and rustic berry desserts, this menu celebrates the region’s rich culinary heritage and its abundance of fresh seafood and seasonal fruit. You’ll learn foundational techniques for building flavorful broths, cooking shellfish perfectly, and crafting simple, elegant desserts that highlight local ingredients.

Instructor: Shawnie Kelley

On the Menu:

New England Clam Chowder – Learn Shawnie’s special recipe for this comforting classic made with tender clams, potatoes, and aromatics. Students will learn how to build a flavorful base while balancing richness with the briny sweetness of fresh seafood.

Provincetown Portuguese Mussels – A Cape Cod favorite influenced by Portuguese coastal cooking, featuring mussels simmered in a fragrant, spicy peri-peri broth. This dish highlights quick-cooking shellfish and bold, rustic flavor.

Mixed Berry & Cranberry Galette – A rustic free-form pie filled with seasonal berries and tart cranberries wrapped in a flaky, buttery crust. It’s an easy, elegant dessert that showcases the Cape’s signature fruits.
