Sheryl Gay Stolberg is a Washington Correspondent at The New York Times, covering the intersection of health policy and politics. In nearly three decades at The Times, she covered health, Congress, the White House (George W. Bush and Barack Obama), and national politics before returning to cover health policy when the coronavirus pandemic hit. Her stories focus on policy debates over issues including vaccination, reproductive rights, gun violence prevention, the ethics of virology research and the cost of prescription drugs.
