Together, we’ll slow down and reconnect with ourselves through intentional breath and grounded awareness.About this Event
What to expect
Welcome to a restorative Oak & Air experience — where breath, body and the natural world meet in harmony.
Together, we’ll slow down and reconnect with ourselves through intentional breath and grounded awareness. Rooted in nature and inspired by the changing seasons, this session invites you to realign your energy, clear what no longer serves you, and create space for renewal.
You’ll step into a calm, supportive environment and be gently guided through accessible breathwork and meditation practices designed to quiet a busy mind and awaken body awareness. From here, we’ll move into a deeper Conscious Connected Breathwork journey accompanied by carefully curated music — offering space for release, insight, emotional processing or profound relaxation.
We’ll close the session in circle, allowing time for reflection and integration over herbal tea and nourishing snacks — leaving you feeling centred, supported and restored.
The Benefits of Conscious Connected Breathwork
Research continues to highlight the powerful impact of breathwork on both physical and emotional wellbeing. Regular practice has been associated with:
- Supporting healthy blood pressure and immune function
- Improving lung capacity and respiratory efficiency
- Reducing stress and physical tension
- Enhancing sleep quality and overall wellbeing
- Supporting emotional release and nervous system regulation
Beyond the individual benefits, conscious breathing strengthens our awareness and deepens our connection — to ourselves, to others, and to the world around us. By cultivating presence through the breath, we build resilience, clarity and a greater sense of grounded confidence in our daily lives.
At Oak & Air, breathwork is more than a practice — it’s a pathway back to balance, connection and embodied living.

Benefits
Scientific research supports the effectiveness of breathwork in various areas, including lowering blood pressure, boosting immunity, managing pain, and improving lung capacity. Moreover, it has been shown to promote better sleep and overall well-being. Engaging in breathwork not only benefits ourselves but also extends to others, as our breath connects us with the collective. By cultivating mindfulness of our breath, we deepen our self-awareness, which in turn enhances our relationships with others. It fosters kindness, strengthens our convictions, and empowers us to make decisions with clarity and determination. Ultimately, breathwork is a powerful practice that offers both personal and interpersonal transformation.
IMPORTANT
Please tell me prior to the session if you have any of the following conditions which can be contraindications to Conscious Connected Breathwork.
Asthma, untreated high or low blood pressure, recent surgery or injury, thyroid conditions, diabetes, a history of seizures or epilepsy, aneurisms, heart conditions, visual problems such as a detached retina or glaucoma. Also, early or delicate pregnancy Bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD or psychiatric conditions.
(If you are under the influence of recreational drugs or alcohol, then this breathwork is not suitable for you).
However, any of these contraindications don’t necessarily mean that you can’t do breathwork, but rather that you need your physician approval to do the conscious connected mouth breathing. You can still do an alternative breath where you breathe through the nose. You are still most welcome in the space.
The alternative softer breathing technique - Heart Coherence breath - will be given to anyone who would prefer to use it. Heart Coherence breathwork is a lovely balancing breathwork into your heartspace. It has lots of physical and relaxing benefits and it helps to connect with the loving energy of everyone in the space as we all breathe together.
Please be aware that the practice of Conscious Connected Breathwork can be powerful and can bring emotions to the surface. Whilst we do all we can to create a safe container for this journey it is also important to check in if it's right for you at this time and commit to looking after yourself during the workshop and the days following. There is never any need to push further than feels right to you, you are in control of your breath.
To be fully prepared you will need
Loose comfortable clothing
Notebook/journal and pen
Water to hydrate
Yoga mat
Small cushion
A little about me
I’m Laura, a Forest Bathing Nature Therapy Guide and Breathwork Facilitator based in the beautiful landscape of South West Northumberland. I have a professional background in connecting people to nature and I've been constantly drawn to the profound benefits of this for health and wellbeing. After navigating a difficult period of bereavement and trauma, I found that breathwork was the practice that supported me through it. This became a personal transformation.
My daily practice of grounding and restorative Breathwork allowed me to acknowledge and let go of so much. I found that the simple act of focusing on my breath could create a powerful shift, clearing energy and allowing a smoother, more peaceful flow. This journey led me to train as a certified Nature Therapist and Breathwork Facilitator, so I could share this incredible gift with others.
My work is trauma-informed and backed by the highest standards of training, ensuring a safe, supportive space for your self-healing journey.
