Imagine snapping a photo of an unusual plant or bird in your garden or on your next nature hike, then instantly contributing to global wildlife conservation—anyone can do it, anytime, anywhere! That's the power of iNaturalist, and you'll discover how at our upcoming Environment Café 613 presentation led by James Pagé, species at risk and biodiversity specialist at the Canadian Wildlife Federation for 15 years.
iNaturalist has become one of the largest community science platforms to connect with nature and contribute to science. Join us to discover how iNaturalist has contributed to wildlife conservation over its 10+ years in Canada and how you can be part of it. You will hear about noteworthy discoveries, local plants, animals and fungi and learn about Canada-wide and Ottawa/Gatineau area initiatives like the City Nature Challenge (April 24–27), enabling you to contribute to all of it.
Join us Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern at the Ottawa Baha'i Centre or on Zoom at the link below. You'll leave equipped to contribute to the City Nature Challenge using the free app—just snap and upload photos or sound recordings - and simultaneously develop your observation and identification skills!
