Conference: Festival of Monsters at UCSC

The 2024 Festival of Monsters academic conference, hosted by the UCSC Center for Monster Studies, explores the way monsters and tropes of monstrosity pervade our culture.

The conference will take place on the UC Santa Cruz campus on October 16-18, 2024. All conference presenters and attendees should register for the conference by Sept. 22. The registration fee includes a welcome reception the evening of Oct. 16, breakfast and lunch on Oct. 17 and 18, a closing Monsters Ball on the evening of Oct. 18, and all conference events.

Although conference events will be taking place on campus, we have reserved a conference room block at the Dream Inn hotel in Santa Cruz. We will provide transportation between the Dream Inn and campus conference events.
