Late at night, two lab assistants analyse an unknown substance. A coffee break turns into a fortune-telling session, shifting their gaze from science to intuition. They imagine a space where rational inquiry and foresight coexist.

Lamia Joreige fait passer des auditions à Beyrouth pour son prochain film, basé sur le manuscrit de 1915 d’un soldat ottoman. Les acteurs palestiniens et libanais jouent, discutent des rôles et tandis qu’un dessin de Jérusalem apparaît peu à peu à l’écran, l’évocation de la Première Guerre mondiale les renvoie au présent.
Lamia Joreige is holding auditions in Beirut for a film based on a 1915 manuscript by a soldier in the Ottoman army. The actors interpret scenes, discuss roles and reflect on WWI and today, while a drawing of Jerusalem unfolds.

Opening with a quote from the architect Chatri Prakitnonthakan, “How to Design a Modern Monument That Won’t Become a Shrine”, the film offers a singular exploration of monuments in Thai society.
