Discover how NHS Wales is rethinking disciplinary policies to reduce costs, promote informal solutions, and foster a compassionate workplace
About this Event

New research suggests that the overuse of HR policies and processes, like disciplinaries, can lead to significant costs to companies and organisations. These can include financial, economic and reputational costs, as well as detrimentally impacting an organisation’s culture, workforce and delivery of its’ services.

NHS Wales has been taking forward a national programme of work to improve the application of its’ disciplinary policy. This session will:

· Explore the associated costs of employee investigation and potential impacts to businesses;

· Consider alternative options and the benefit of pursuing informal approaches to address workplace issues;

· Outline the ‘last resort’ approach being developed and advocated in NHS Wales.

It will also:

· Consider whether this approach is applicable for sectors beyond healthcare;

· Explore the value of a compassionate approach, which is focused on developing learning cultures;

· Set out how the work the aligns with the CIPD’s profession map: principles-led, evidence-based and outcomes-driven.

Target Audience:

HR leaders and Senior People professionals
