Event Description:
Are you caring for someone with dementia or want to learn more about how to support someone living with dementia? Join us for the Getting to Know Dementia Education Series at The Pillars in Mankato!
This community-based training, created by world-renowned dementia educator Teepa Snow, will equip you with the knowledge and skills to better understand and support those living with dementia. Over six 90-minute sessions, you'll learn:
- What is Dementia?
- The brain changes associated with dementia
- Seeing more than loss – GEMS states
- Positive Approach skills
- How to be an advocate and build a support team
Each session is completely free, and all are welcome to attend any or all sessions.
About the Presenter:
Jane Unzeitig, RN, BSN, and Certified Independent Coach, brings a wealth of personal and professional experience in dementia care. She has worked with memory care staff, family members, civic groups, and more, teaching vital skills for communicating and supporting people living with dementia.
