About this Event
Join Us for Compassion in the Modern World!
In the Buddhist tradition, compassion is both cultivated and a natural instinct. Learning how to emphasize compassion in one’s life and mind not only helps reduce the causes of suffering, but also elevates our state of mind enabling us to engage positively with a world that deeply needs it. This training of the mind dates back to the Buddha and the great masters of India, particularly the teachings of Lord Atisha and his teacher Lama Serlingpa, who emphasize expanding oneself through a sense of universal responsibility to uplift one’s environment.
During this weekend program, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche will explore fundamental concepts of lojong, or mind training, and how to apply the timeless teachings in our modern world.
The event is Friday evening from 7:30 to 9pm, and Sunday evening from 7:30 to 9pm. Tickets are available for the full event, or if needed, choose a single evening.
Ani Pema Chödrön recommends his teaching:
“Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche is my principal teacher at this time and I know from firsthand experience that his words will inspire you and give you lots to work with on a daily basis. He is the real deal."
About Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche
