At this FREE training you will learn:
- How to recognize an opioid overdose
- All about naloxone (NARCAN®)
- About Steve's Law (Minnesota's Good Samaritan and Naloxone Legislation)
You will also:
- See a demo of naloxone administration
- Practice administration of naloxone
- Receive your own naloxone kit
Who should attend?
Anyone in Dakota County who is interested in learning how to use naloxone to save a life is encouraged to attend. This training might be especially of interest for professionals working with adolescents on substance misuse in the field of: Education, Mental Health, Social Work, Healthcare, Chemical Health, Faith Community, Law Enforcement, and Violence Prevention. This training is open to the public.
The training is eligible for 1 credit hour of CEUs for:
• Alcohol and Drug Counselors (ADC-MN and ADCR-MN)
• Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselors (AADCR-MN)
• Co-Occuring Disorder Professionals (CCDP and CCDP-D)
• Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS and CPRSR)
• Prevention Professionals (CPP, CPPA, CPPR)
