Community Make-It Day
About this Event
Join us at this month's Community Make-It day where we will be sharing skills and learning together about textile waste from a thrift store's point of view.
In July we will be working on creating an 80lb tarn ball out of old t-shirts to display at UpCycle Fest and other events. This is an educational opportunity for the public to learn about textile waste and that the average american throws away 80lbs of clothing every year! This opportunity opens your eyes up to textile waste and also gives other ideas of what you can do with ripped clothing before throwing it in the landfill.
No prior experience necessary, all skill levels welcome, and all supplies and equipment provided! We will learn and work together on projects that will benefit our wider community!
This is a FREE drop-in opportunity. Drop in anytime throughout 12-7 pm that day and stay as long as you want! **Signing up is highly encouraged to give staff a heads up! Thanks!
