Community Language Exchange & Cultural Exchange with LingoMix

Learning another language or wanting to learn one? CHPL is partnering with LingoMix Cincy to host a free cultural exchange and language exchange event. Language learners of all ages will have the opportunity to practice their language skills with their community by meeting and mingling with other learners and native users of the language. There will be complimentary snacks and drinks; as well as free books & programming for children. All languages are welcome!
Schedule of Programs During the Event:
Language exchange (all languages of the community are welcome!): 10:30a - 1:30p
French bilingual storytime for children: 11:00a - 11:30a
English storytime with ASL interpretation: 11:30a - 12:00p
Arabic bilingual storytime for children: 12:00p - 12:30p
Spanish bilingual storytime for children: 1:00p - 1:30p
How does the cultural and language exchange work? Participants wear stickers of flags that represent languages or cultures that they identify with. Check in with the LingoMix check-in table to get your flags. Then, walk around the room and meet new people. When you see a flag you recognize, you join or start a conversation!
Who is attending? This event is for all ages. Attendees are often multilingual professionals and multilingual families; international students, globally-minded community members, cultural organizations, and community leaders. All languages are welcome!
