Community Kinusaiga Class
About this Event
Join us in person at KindKin Collective for a community Kinusaiga class.
What is Kinusaiga?
Kinusaiga is a fabric mosaic technique created in 1987 by Japanese artist Maeno Setsu, who tucks pieces of silk into carved grooves to form an image. We use mostly quilter's cotton, tucked into foam board.
This class is best for:
- Ages 10 and up, comfortable using an exacto knife
- People who love playing with color, texture, and fabric
- No previous experience needed
Choose from five designs: bear, landscape, mushroom, moth, or labyrinth star (quilt square). All supplies are included, and you're welcome to bring your own fabric if you have something special you'd like to work with.
By the end of class, you'll go home with a finished and framed 8x8 Kinusaiga piece.
Facilitated by Jessica and Arianna at KindKin Collective in Downtown Sebastopol.
