Fiber Arts/Sewing: Creating Fabric Collage

Join us for an engaging hands-on class where you'll explore the art of fabric collage through fiber arts and sewing techniques. This in-person workshop offers a unique opportunity to unleash your creativity and craft beautiful textile pieces.

The instructor will share examples of her work to demonstrate the basic cutting and sewing techniques involved. This includes a rotary cutter or scissors option, single needle or serger, looking/seeing, choosing fabrics, arranging and rearranging fabrics. Ironing is key, sewing a smaller piece first and then building on it.

There will also be group discussions. All attendees will engage in show & tells and get feedback and appreciation of the works.

About the instructor: For the last 40+ years I've been CEO/owner of Peggy Lutz Plus, creating fine designer clothing for women sizes 14 - 34. With our unique sizing system and our own digital patterns, we established an atelier first in San Francisco and then in Sonoma County. Over the years we've created special occasion clothing for hundreds of women in the US, Canada, England, France, Japan, parts of Australia, in person and online. Notes: Attendees should bring their own sewing machine/serger, scissors or rotary cutter and mat, needles, threads, sewing machine tools, magnifying glasses if needed. You should be competent on your own sewing machine, which should be in working order.

Class duration: 2.5 hours

Materials Fee: Basic materials (fabric scraps, remnants, trims, colorful threads) will be $30. Additional specialty materials and appliques available for purchase during classes for $5 - $40. CASH ONLY PLEASE!

Safety Considerations: We'll be using scissors, rotary cutters, irons and sewing machines with needles.

Cancellation Policy: 72 hour prior to the class.

Class size: Minimum 3, maximum 12. Class will be cancelled if minimum attendance not met. Your class fees will be fully refunded.
