Community Forum on Police Accountability and the MPD officer killing of Corey Ruiz.

The meeting will be comprised of two formats: a world cafe and a panel.
We will begin with light refreshments followed by Introductions of the meeting hosts, table hosts, the sharing of ground rules, opening remarks, world cafe style meeting and then a panel.
Our goal is to provide a forum for community to share concerns and ask questions of:
- City of Madison Independent Police Monitor, Aeiramique Glass
- City of Madison members of the Police Civilian Oversight Board
- City of Madison Council Vice President Carmella Glenn
- City of Madison Alder Davy Mayer
- Key Witness and Former PCOB Chair, Shadayra Kilfoy Flores
- Williamson Marquette Business Alliance Rep. - Chip Cruz
- Reps who can speak to the protest and memorial organizing.
Topics covered will include:
- MPD’s killing of Corey Ruiz and the aftermath
- The only independent investigative process and legal protections
- The 177 adopted, but not implemented, changes to the Madison Police Department
- The state of Madison’s independent police oversight
- Housing and homelessness
- Civilian crisis response
- Racial disparities and policy
- Reflection and Call to action.
