Community Disaster Response Exercise - Pan Pacific Park

This exercise will take place on the second Sunday of September which is part of a month long observance of Disaster Preparedness Month. For this year, we are moving to Pan Pacific Park which located just off of the Miracle Mile in our Battalion 18 area. This exercise, which is involves City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks, L.A. City Council District 5, CERT, and a host of others, will take place across the footprint of the 30 + acre park. Members participating in the exercise will be put through at least THREE DISTINCT DISASTER OPERATIONS SCENEARIOS teams will be faced with including dealing with victims of a multi-casualty incident, team safety operations, and an overall medical & staging operations exercise.

Those participating in the exercise should bring or do the following:

• Bring your CERT Gear which includes all PPE’s as well
• Bring your FRS/GMRS radios. If you do not have them, you may sign a loaner out on the morning of the exercise
• Bring any hydration/water
• Bring any food you wish to eat
• Wear the CERT “Work” uniform if you have it. If NOT, wear appropriate apparel for such an exercise

As part of “prep” for this, there will be a pre-event radio training session for members NEW to CERT or those who have lesser developed communications skills. This skills training session will take place on Saturday September 6, 2025 from 0900-1030 Hours at Pan Pacific Park’s Recreation Center.

Over the course of the morning and afternoon, there will be vendors on scene and there will be a raffle of some great CERT gear and goodies.
