Community Day 2026

We’re inviting friends, old and new, to join us for an afternoon of family, dog-friendly fun and activities to celebrate our Home!
Come and show off your dog’s handsome face and waggly tail in one of our competitions, learn expert animal-care tips, and put your pup’s self-control to the test in the notorious ‘Temptation Alley’.
Join us in the big paddock at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home from 11am-3pm on Sunday 6 September for what will be your dog’s favourite ever day out!
Show-off your gorgeous pup in competitions like handsomest boy, prettiest girl and waggiest tail. Treat pets (and yourself) to goodies and tasty food from a host of local stall holders. See if your dog has what it takes to make it to the end of Temptation Alley without stopping for the treats and toys along the way – or come to watch the hilarity! Enjoy fun for all the family with kid’s corner. Spend an afternoon surrounded by more pup’s than people!
This event is totally FREE. Show up for as little or as long as you like – we can’t wait to see you there!
