Join us for a full day of fun, connection, and celebration right here in Trend Arlington! Community Day is all about bringing neighbours together, supporting local talent, and enjoying the best of what our community has to offer. From biking and markets to tree giveaways and an outdoor movie under the stars, there’s truly something for everyone.📅 Day-at-a-Glance Schedule
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. · 🚲 Pedal & Play
Kick off Community Day with a family-friendly ride! Bring your bike, scooter, stroller, or anything on wheels. We’ll start at the Community Centre, travel at an easy pace, and finish at the park with snacks and playtime.
1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. · 🌱 Hope, Connection & Action: A Climate Fresk Experience
A collaborative, interactive workshop (ages 16+) to explore climate change, share hopes for the future, and choose actions together. Led by Climate Fresk Ottawa and facilitated by our neighbour Don Ball.
2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. · 🚗 Trend Arlington Car Meet
Calling all car lovers! Check out vintage, exotic, rare, fun, and neighbour-owned vehicles at our first-ever car meet.
2:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. · 🛍️ Community Day Market
Browse local vendors, support small businesses, and discover unique finds right here in our neighbourhood.
3:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. · 🌳 Free Tree and Seed Giveaway with Ecology Ottawa and The Ottawa Wildflower Seed Libary
Take home a free native tree (6–18 inches tall) grown by local suppliers like Ferguson Tree Nursery. A wonderful way to green our community!
5:00 p.m. onward · 🍿 Concessions Open
Snacks and drinks available before the movie and throughout the evening.
5:00 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. · 🎲 Lawn Games
Enjoy lawn games at the park.
6:00 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. · ✂️ Grand Opening of the Community Pavilion
Join Councillor Devine and other local elected officials for the Grand Opening of the Trend Arlington Community Pavilion, as well as the amazing public art project “ReWilding”. Councillor Devine has some top-secret surprises in store for this event, so be sure to be there!
7:00 p.m. · 🎬 Outdoor Movie Night: The Princess Bride
Settle in with your blankets and chairs for a movie classic on our giant outdoor screen. If all goes well, we may even have a double feature with Jurassic Park at 9:00 p.m.!
