Community Connect: Fun- Picnic & Hike at Jacobsburg State Park

Saturday June 13th 12 noon-3pmJoin us for a picnic at Jacobsburg State Park followed by a relatively low exertion hike/ walk through the trails including a stop at the river. Bring water shoes if you plan to take a dip as the rocks can be sharp.
Bring a packed lunch (and a chair) and enjoy outdoor fellowship at noon. Around 12:45 we will embark on a mostly flat and shaded walk on the Henry's Woods trail, taking in the beauty of Hemlocks and White Oaks and looking out for butterflies, birds and blooming wildflowers.
For those that would like to walk, but avoid the hill, you can do the first half and then return, which will still include the river and beautiful scenery.
Those who do not wish to hike can join us for just the picnic portion if they'd like.
Walkers: wear sturdy sneakers and bring a water bottle for hydration. The loop is 1.9 miles and is mostly flat terrain and wide paths, however there is a small section with an incline, so judge your abilities before embarking. Not recommended for those with canes or walkers. Bring your tick and mosquito spray!
When you arrive: park in the second parking lot (the one after the education center building) and go a short distance to the picnic area (follow the signs by the bridge and bathroom area).
This event is open to all ages. Registration is not necessary for this event, but is appreciated so we know about how many to expect.
Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed and behaved at all times.
