Community-scale composting and waste systems (like compost toilets) can support thriving soil health in your green spaces. This two-day course (with the option of participating in just one day if you wish) is either Saturday or Sunday, or the full weekend.
ffin Jordão (they/them) co-founder of criw compostio, will share a case study of local community composting, discuss behaviour change and why such alternatives are so needed. Together we'll explore which types of waste to endorse and which to avoid, investigate various techniques to make different composts and introduce the soil food web complete composting methodology.
We'll also examine collecting, composting and using human excreta to prevent pollution and improve soil fertility. As well as investigating alternative sanitation principles and best practices; compost toilet types, installation and maintenance; relevant planning and regulatory frameworks.
