Heads up! Saturday, November 21: Spread the word, save the date, and BOX UP YOUR STUFF!
As the weather cools and the holidays approach, many families find themselves with excess stuff (outgrown or unused toys, clothes, and holiday decorations) and in need of extra cash to fund the holiday season. We also realize that many of you also live in rural areas or in places where it is harder to draw buyers to your garage sales.
SOLUTION: Let's pool our efforts on Saturday, November 21 and do a "flash mob" yard sale indoors at Creekside! Come to sell or come to shop and see what bargains you can score.
PEOPLE WITH STUFF: Just $10 reserves your 10x10 booth spot in the Creekside gyms for a massive one-day not-in-your-yard yard sale! Our hours are sane (10am to 4pm) and the funds can line your pockets just in time for the holidays!
GROUPS WITH STUFF: If your church, organization, workplace, club, extended family, or neighborhood would like to share a booth, just assign a contact person and have them make the purchase of your 10x10, 10x20 (two booths), or 10x30 (three booths) space. Easy!
PEOPLE WHO NEED STUFF: Admission is just $2 per person to browse up to 80 "yard sales" in a single climate-controlled location!
WHY ARE YOU CHARGING FOR THE BOOTHS?
We're only charging $10 for each booth (and yes, you can sign up for up to three) to help pay Creekside's extra labor costs associated with hauling all the carpet floor protectors and tables and chairs in and out for the event. (Attendees will pay $2 per person at the gate to help cover these costs as well.) If the event is a huge hit and we manage to make money, we'll dedicate any profits to recreational equipment (toys, games, sports equipment, etc) for Creekside. That way we ALL benefit!
DETAILS:
Early birds get tables and the best locations, and those that plan ahead can sign up for multiple tables and bring their friends! Our focus for this event is on kids and families, so think about what they might need or want as you decide what to bring... PLEASE NOTE: this sale is focused on clothes, toys, and holiday decorations you can spare. No large or bulky items (furniture, etc) can be allowed in the building, but you CAN display photos of such items you would like to sell and take names or even bids for those items.
Vendors and business owners, please do not rent booths unless you are selling your own PERSONAL household items; if you want to showcase and sell your business' items, see our upcoming expo events in January and February instead.
IMPORTANT: Tables AND booth locations will be assigned on a first come, first served basis in the order signups are received. (We have a bunch of tables, but perhaps not enough, so each booth will receive one table for as long as they last.) We'll also provide two chairs for each booth so you don't have to haul your own. Booth location will be assigned in the order they are received, with the booths nearest the entrance being assigned first.. so sign up now for the best chance at a prime spot! If you want to be located next to a friend, it's best to reserve your tables together so that you will have two or three booths all next to each other.
SETUP, SECURITY, & TEARDOWN:
Creekside opens at 10am; we'll open the doors to the courts early for booth setup. The sale will run just 'till 4, and we hope to have everyone cleared out by 5pm. You are, of course, responsible for bringing (and tending) your own change box/bag/apron and staying attentive at your own booth.
