About this Event

Are you keen to know more about climate resilience and how you can support your community to take action?

Join Lanarkshire Climate Action Hub and South Lanarkshire Council for a day of presentations, networking and activities that will provide you with the knowledge, key contacts and tools to take climate adaptation actions with your community.

What to expect on the day:

  • Hear from 3 South Lanarkshire community groups about how they engaged their communities in climate adaptation projects
  • Share climate impacts your community are experiencing
  • Take part in activities to understand how to use 's community adaptation resources
  • Get the opportunity to participate in workshops exploring different ways to approach climate adaptation

Take part in a taster session of a new interactive climate themed game to explore how it could frame discussions with your staff, board members or volunteers.

  • Woodland Walk with MorphFit, BRAG, SLC Rangers and Get Outdoors Lanarkshire

Take a stroll through Bothwell Road Park and see first hand climate adaptation in action; how MorphFit and Bothwell Road Action Group teamed up to create climate resilient greenspaces. You'll get the opportunity to see their tree planting as well as the ways they are supporting local biodiversity - from bird boxes to bug hotels.

This is an excellent opportunity to see simple adaptation in person, hear how they collaborated with local schools on the project and ask questions.

Located in a residential area, Whitehill Neighbourhood Centre can be accessed via bus.

There are bike racks available outside of the building.

The closest train station is Hamilton West which is a 20 minute (0.9mi) walk away.

The venue also has a car park.
