Community Climate Conversation

New England is warming faster than any other region in the country, worsening extreme weather and putting our communities at risk. This warming, caused by industrial emissions that trap heat and release toxic pollution, impacts the health of all Rhode Islanders, especially those living on the frontlines of environmental and economic injustice.

As Rhode Island invests in statewide actions to combat the climate crisis, it’s crucial to center the voices of residents most affected by economic inequality and the compounding environmental, health, education, and other disparities that come with it.

That’s why Green Energy Consumers is teaming up with Conexion Latina & Newport Energy & Environment Commission to host an event where we will:

• Discuss the impact of climate change on your community
• Update you on what the state is doing to combat climate change
• Share how you can save money with clean technology incentives and programs
• Gather your feedback on these initiatives to report back to the state

Why Attend?
Your voice matters! This session will provide a platform for community feedback that will help shape the state's climate strategy. Whether you're concerned about climate change, public health, or just curious about the state's climate action, your participation is crucial in working towards an inclusive and just transition.

Participants will receive an online gift card for their time upon completing the feedback form. Please note, we have a set # of stipends, and registration is required in advance. If you are no longer able to attend, kindly let us know by emailing [email protected] or updating your status through your Eventbrite account.

• This event will be in English with Spanish translation available - please indicate whether you need Spanish translation in the registration form.
