**Lehighton Band and Community Chorus Unite for Historic USA 250 Patriotic Celebration**
LEHIGHTON, PA — In what will be a once-in-a-lifetime musical event for both performers and audience members, the Lehighton Band, under the direction of Bradly R. Cressley, will join forces with a large community chorus to present an inspiring concert of patriotic music celebrating America's 250th Anniversary.
The free concert will take place on **Thursday, July 2, at 8:00 p.m. at the Lehighton Park Amphitheater** and will feature nearly 100 performers on stage.
The special community chorus was formed following discussions among participants in Zion UCC's annual Ecumenical Christmas Cantata. Many singers expressed a desire to reunite and perform together without waiting for another Christmas season, making this patriotic celebration the perfect opportunity.
The chorus and band will combine to perform several beloved patriotic selections, including *The Star-Spangled Banner*, *Battle Hymn of the Republic*, *Patriotic Pageantry*, and *God Bless the U.S.A.* by Lee Greenwood. Audience members will be invited to join in singing *God Bless the U.S.A.*, creating a memorable community-wide celebration.
A highlight of the evening will be *Armed Forces Salute*, during which members of the Lehighton UVO Color Guard will present the flags of the United States military services as each service song is performed, honoring veterans and active-duty military personnel in attendance.
The chorus will also present Pepper Choplin's moving anthem *Blessed Are the Peacemakers*, accompanied by Laura Reichard on piano and Duane Reichard on drums.
In addition to the combined selections, the Lehighton Band will perform several patriotic favorites, including *American Patrol* and *God Bless America*. The band will also showcase the music of America's "March King," John Philip Sousa, performing three of his most celebrated marches, including *The Washington Post March* and *The Fairest of the Fair*. The concert will conclude with Sousa's immortal *The Stars and Stripes Forever*, providing a rousing and fitting finale to this historic celebration.
"This concert represents the spirit of community, patriotism, and musical excellence that has long been a part of our region," said Director Bradly R. Cressley. "Bringing together nearly 100 performers to celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary will create memories that participants and audience members alike will cherish for years to come."
Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and join in this unique celebration of America's past, present, and future.
