About this Event
As part of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM), we are offering three community care sessions of embodied, arts-based exploration.Embodied care practices can help us regenerate personal and collective power as we tend to community healing.
Each session will feature:
- A little bit of theory: Some of the neurobiological and energetic theory of how we carry and release harm in our nervous system.
- Embodiment and expression: Move, stretch, and shake (guided or doing your own thing) with music. Then use your creative muscles by sculpting, drawing or writing poetry.
- Opportunities to connect and share
Dr Katie Mansfield (Restorative Arlington) is an educator and facilitator focused on transforming trauma and reviving creativity. She respects embodied care – especially in community – as a gateway to releasing what no longer serves, as we metabolize harm and reset for life-giving safety, dignity, and belonging.
