Commoning Ground: Lost Then Found
About this Event
Lost Then Found is a gentle, creative project about the things we lose, the things we find, and everything in between. It could be a key, a glove, a feeling, a friendship, a sense of yourself. Over three weekly sessions at the Whitworth, we’ll use cyanotype (an old sun-printing process that makes deep blue images) alongside drawing and simple stitching to make something that’s yours.
Coming to all three sessions gives you time to settle in, build on your ideas, and make something that really reflects you. We know life doesn’t always go to plan, though. If you can only make one or two sessions, you’re still very welcome. Each session is complete in itself, so you’ll always leave with something finished.
What we’ll do
- Print with plants, objects and your own drawings on cotton fabric and gloves
- Draw on clear acetate and turn your drawing into a print
- Cut your own stencils
- Complete a hand-printed Lost/Found label, with your own words if you’d like to add them, in your own voice and language
- Add simple stitch to your piece, if you’d like to
No experience needed. All materials provided.
