Join us at Amelia Plantation Chapel to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 with a Memorial Service and Panel Discussion on Thursday, September 10, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel sanctuary.
This gathering will honor the lives lost on 9/11 while helping a new generation understand the enduring impact of that day on our nation and the importance of remaining One Nation Under God.
The memorial service will include the ringing of the Chapel Chimes and a moving musical tribute featuring “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning).”
Following the service, guests will participate in a moderated panel discussion led by a professional counselor, offering personal reflections and firsthand accounts from those connected to the events of 9/11.
Featured Guests Include:
Daniel Goodrich — Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer who documented Ground Zero and captured the iconic image of President George W. Bush embracing a fire chief, will present some of his 9/11 work
Dr. Ken Jones — Deputy on duty in Northern Virginia during the attack on the Pentagon;
Retired Officer Art Cusick — Member of President Bush’s security detail in Sarasota, Florida, on the morning of 9/11
A special tribute to the heroes of United Flight 93 — including a letter from David Beamer, father of Todd Beamer, whose courageous words, “Let’s Roll,” became a lasting symbol of American resolve.
Special Gift: Everyone who attends will receive a special “9/11 Remembrance Brochure” featuring rare photographs of Ground Zero and New York City 9/11 memorial services by Daniel Goodrich, along with a moving letter from David Beamer, who lost his beloved son on September 11th.
