Coming Out: Support & Share
About this Event
Coming Out: Support and Share:
This event provides a space to discuss “coming out” and all of its attendant concerns. Open to people who have already come out in some capacity (work, home, friends, everywhere), those who are thinking about coming out, or anyone interested in this topic. Facilitators Kate and Cait (yes, you can laugh about this) know that the process of coming out is non-linear (and not a one-time event) and unique. We will encourage a discussion about how others have navigated this process, how to manage expectations and responses, and how to find support.
This discussion is designed to be an affirmative space where personal sharing is encouraged and supported, where we can learn from one another and provide insight.
Come with questions!
About the hosts:
Cait Graziani (She/Her) and Kate Biggers (She/Her) are queer roommates with wildly different coming out stories. They’re excited to partner with ASATTB to host a conversation on coming out and all the complicated emotions it can evoke. The discussion will be primarily facilitated by Cait, a PhD Candidate researching gender and sexuality, with assistance from Kate, an advocate for disability awareness and social justice.
