Comedy at The Strand: Tom Cotter | As Seen on America's Got Talent

Tom Cotter didn’t choose comedy—comedy chose him. After realizing that a “real job” involved things like dress codes and early mornings, Tom made the wise decision to pursue a career where making people laugh could also pay the rent (barely, at first). Today, he’s one of the most high-octane comedians in the business—delivering rapid-fire punchlines with the energy of a toddler after espresso.
Best known as the first comedian to reach the finals of America’s Got Talent, Tom not only made judges laugh until they cried, he also proved that stand-up can hold its own next to singers, dancers, and whatever that guy with the flaming hula hoop was doing. Since then, he’s been all over your TV, from The Tonight Show and The Late Late Show to Comedy Central and America’s Got Talent: The Champions, where he returned to once again roast the competition (and himself).
Tom’s signature style is fast, smart, and relentlessly funny—think comedy meets caffeine. Whether he’s headlining top clubs like The Comedy Cellar and The Improv, or cracking up cruise ships, corporate events, or that one awkward holiday party, Tom Cotter brings the laughs hard and fast.
No props, no gimmicks—just punchline after punchline, delivered with a wink, a grin, and zero chill. If laughter is the best medicine, Tom Cotter might be slightly over-prescribed.
Catch him live before his jokes beat you to the punch.
