Dr. Skip Watters is a graduate of the International School of Tactical Medicine. A member of the National Tactical Officers Assn. He attended MCSO SWAT School 2010. Dr. Watters has performed over 5000 major surgeries and 15000 minor surgeries. In addition to his Medical degree, he is also a Registered Pharmacist and has a master’s degree in Public Health.
Class is limited to ONLY 15 students
Course will consist of video, lecture, hands on practice
Topics Include:
• Caring for chest wounds-tension pneumothorax
• Appropriate tourniquet use
• Hemostatic agents when to use them
• The dynamics of a gunshot wound
• Treatment of Gunshot wounds
• Stopping Massive Bleeding
• Firearm ballistics and critical velocity
• Acute Gun Shot Management
• Dynamics of blood loss and clotting mechanisms
• Hemostatic Agents
• Tourniquet uses and myths
• Anatomy trauma locations
• Chest Wounds dealing with tension pneumothorax and other chest injuries (when and where to needle decompress)
• Head wounds
• Acute burn care
• Airway management nasogastric tubes
• Basics of cricothyrotomy -additional training recommended
• Putting together your EDC kit
• More sophisticated range bag requirements
• Airway Obstructions
• CPR review
