We will be leaving at 8:30am.
We are running the Maggie's Mine to Turkey Creek backwards.
This is a trail everyone will really like.
Running the trails backwards does take the difficulty out of a couple hill climbs since we are going down them.
Here is the route:
1. Creek to Peak
Diff 4.0
to
2. Pucker Factor
Diff 4.0
to
3. Turkey Creek
Diff 5.0
to
4. Maggie mine
Difficulty 3.0
All of these are shown on OnX. About 6-8 hrs on dirt depending on the number of rigs that attend.
Nice range of rocks, hill climbs, creeks, scenery.
Recommended 33" tires and at least one locker.
Stock vehicles will have an hard day on a few obstacles.
Lunch 45 minutes
Turkey Creek Trail lives up to its name in the springtime with snow runoff, as it has water flowing in the creek. It includes tight areas through the brush that are sure to get you some Arizona pinstriping as a badge of honor for running the trail. The trail winds through the creek/wash with around a dozen crossings throughout the trail.
Pucker Factor - is a .5 mile downhill trail with loose rock; there is no way to turn around or bypass. Requires full commitment and paying attention.
If you are unsure about going; checkout the trails on OnX.
This event will be a minimum of 6 hours on the trails..
The 6 hours does not include lunch, drive time to Minute Mart, to the trail head or your drive back to your house.
Bring lots of food, water, sun screen & extra gasoline if you can carry it. We will top off our gas when we meet at Minute Mart.
You may have to get gas on your way home on I-17.
