Celebrating 14 Years of New England Arts & Culture Join us for a landmark evening as The Cold River Radio Show marks its 14th Anniversary! Since 2012, our stage has showcased the rich, vibrant arts and culture of New England. Celebrate this special milestone live on Sunday, September 20th at the historic Majestic Theatre in Conway, New Hampshire.

Headline Performers: The Brian Maes Band with Special Guest Barry Goudreau Taking the stage is The Brian Maes Band, featuring special guest , former guitarist of the legendary rock group Boston!

About the Artists

• Barry Goudreau: As an original guitarist for Boston, Goudreau helped shape the iconic, multi-platinum sound heard on timeless rock anthems like "More Than a Feeling," "Foreplay/Long Time," and "Smokin'."
• Brian Maes: A powerhouse vocalist, keyboardist, songwriter, and producer, Maes has been a staple of the New England rock scene for decades, collaborating with regional icons like Peter Wolf (The J. Geils Band).

Maes and Goudreau share a deep musical partnership, most notably co-founding Barry Goudreau’s Engine Room—a high-energy fusion of classic blues rock, blistering guitar work, and massive vocal harmonies. While this is not an official Engine Room concert, expect to hear plenty of the signature harmonies, leads, and licks you know and love.

Meet The Cold River Radio Band Led by host Jonathan Sarty, the show is backed by an extraordinary house band of veteran musicians who bring the Great American Songbook and classic soundscapes to life:

• Dave Mattacks (Drums): Legendary UK-born drummer whose stellar career includes playing with Fairport Convention, touring with Jethro Tull, and recording on five Paul McCartney albums—plus drum tracks for Jimmy Page, Elton John, and George Harrison.
• Joseph "Sonny" Barbato (Piano): Masterful pianist and keyboard virtuoso whose versatile, soulful playing forms the melodic core of the house band.
• Todd Baker (Double Bass): Berklee-trained bassist who anchors the rhythm section with steady swing, deep walking basslines, and rich harmonic grooves.
• Michael Sakash (Soprano Sax & Winds): Acclaimed woodwind multi-instrumentalist whose warm, expressive sax leads bring sophisticated brilliance to every performance.

Local Spotlight: RamaLisa We are thrilled to spotlight RamaLisa, a genre-defying violin and hurdy-gurdy duo fusing folk, classical, metal, and humor into bold original music!

• Noelle Beaudin (Hurdy-gurdy, Piano, Composition): Based in Center Sandwich, NH, Noelle is a pianist, composer, and enthusiastic collector of unusual musical ideas. Drawn to folklore, mythology, early music, and contemporary sounds, she writes music that is equal parts beautiful, mysterious, and unexpectedly catchy. • Shelby Trevor (Violin): Shelby is a violinist, composer, educator, and resident musical tinkerer. With a background spanning classical performance, folk traditions, chamber music, and improvisation, he creates intricate musical textures that push both instruments into uncharted territory.

Special Guest: Allan Kozinn Acclaimed music critic, author, and world-renowned Beatles historian Allan Kozinnjoins the show in support of his definitive multi-volume biography series, The McCartney Legacy! Allan will share insights into the post-Beatles life and music of Sir Paul McCartney, discussing the acclaim of Volumes 1 and 2, while giving audience members an exciting preview of the forthcoming Volume 3.

The show also features Dr. Peter Crane, Voice from the Mountain with, "The Mount Washington Moment" A beloved cornerstone of the show since its very inception, Dr. Peter Crane—longtime Director of Education at the Mount Washington Observatory—returns as the show's resident "Voice from the Mountain."

For 14 years, Dr. Crane has captivated live audiences and radio listeners with "The Mount Washington Moment."Bringing the grandeur, extreme weather, rich history, and lore of the highest peak in the Northeast right to the stage, Peter weaves fascinating historical tales, scientific insights, and mountain legends that embody the true spirit of New England heritage.
