About this Event
Birding the Arboretum: A Fall Bird Walk at FAU Jupiter
Start your morning surrounded by birds, native plants, and the beauty of South Florida's natural landscapes. Join Audubon Everglades and Florida Atlantic University for coffee and a guided bird walk through the Robert J. Huckshorn Arboretum on FAU's John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter.
About the Robert J. Huckshorn Arboretum
Located on Florida Atlantic University's Jupiter campus, the Robert J. Huckshorn Arboretum showcases several native South Florida ecosystems and serves as an important refuge for resident and migratory birds, butterflies, pollinators, and other wildlife. The Arboretum provides visitors with an opportunity to experience Florida's natural habitats while learning about the native plants and animals that call them home.
September is an especially exciting time to visit, as fall migration is underway and a variety of migratory bird species begin making their journey through South Florida.
About the Event
Enjoy a relaxed morning bird walk led by Audubon Everglades and Florida Atlantic University staff through the Arboretum's scenic trails. Along the way, participants will learn to identify resident and migratory bird species while discovering the native plants that support them.
Birders of all experience levels are welcome—from first-time birdwatchers to seasoned enthusiasts. We will move at a leisurely pace, making frequent stops to observe birds, discuss their habitats, and enjoy the Arboretum's diverse ecosystems.
Coffee will be available before the walk, and participants will receive a complimentary Arboretum giveaway while supplies last. A shared eBird checklist will also be provided so everyone can view the species recorded during the outing.
