Coffee, Cakes & Journals - Journal Swap Workshop
About this Event
Welcome to Coffee, Cakes & Journals, a casual journalling meetup organised by Desy (she/her) from Cute Stickers Only and Leo McJames (she/her). We are two journallers based in South Wales who love to meet fellow journallers, planners or sticker collectors alike and spend a cosy afternoon chatting about all things stationery over coffee and cakes!
Join us on Saturday 15th August at Love Stories Bookshop in Castle Arcade, Cardiff at 1pm. This month we will play Journal Swap - open a blank spread in your journal and we will swap journals every 10 minutes so you get 3-4 people fill in your journal spread! We'll provide some prompt ideas you can pull randomly from, or you can set your own. Feel free to bring your favourite stickers, washi or pens to decorate other people's journals! 😄 If you do not wish for others to fill in your journal, we'll bring some blank papers for everyone.
As planner season is upon us, this could be a great chance to look at other people's planners and journals and help you decide your 2027 lineup - think of this as a group Techo Kaigi! [A self-reflection session where you evaluate your current stationery, journals, and planning systems to see what is working and what needs adjustment]
Feel free to also bring your journals, planners, or any other project you want to work on for the remainder of the time. Whether you are new to journalling, an avid journaller, a seasoned planner, or a sticker collector - you are more than welcome to join!
As we are using a paid venue this month, we work on a donation basis to keep our meetup accessible to everyone. If you are able to, a suggested donation of £5 or £3 concession will cover our venue hire, but anything you are able to give will help us cover our costs! Donations can be made online or in cash on the day, whichever suits you best. And if you're not able to donate right now, please don't let that stop you coming along, we'd still love to see you there! Note that any excess donations will go towards our future events.
You are invited to join our Facebook group (optional) so we could meet and chat beforehand. We also have a WhatsApp group chat so we could easily find each other on the day, please ask to be added after RSVP-ing.
Note as the venue is a bookshop, there are no coffee or cakes available. We will provide some snacks but please bring your own drinks - there are many independent cafes around the Arcades!

PS: If you are feeling nervous, or anxious about walking in to the event on your own - please get in touch with one of us. We both completely understand this feeling, and will be happy to meet you ahead of time so we can arrive together, or help in any other way we can! We would hate for you to miss out on the event. :)
