Coastal Erosion and Community-led Coastal Resilience

Join Professor Rob Duck and East Haven Together for an informative walk and discussion exploring the impacts of coastal erosion and the role of nature-based solutions in protecting vulnerable coastlines.

This event provides an opportunity to learn about the challenges facing the fragile coastal environment at East Haven and discover how community-led action is helping to monitor, protect and enhance this important landscape. Participants will hear from Professor Duck about coastal processes and resilience approaches, while members of East Haven Together will share their experiences of local conservation and environmental stewardship.

The event will include a guided walk along the dunes and shoreline, followed by an opportunity to continue discussions at the community shed on the croft. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy refreshments provided by the organisers.

Accessibility and What to Bring

This event involves an outdoor walk across fairly flat ground, although some areas of the dunes and beach may be uneven underfoot.

Participants should wear suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear appropriate for the weather and terrain.

Please bring a picnic lunch. Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided by the organisers.

Car parking is available close to the site.
