Coach Trip: Bruges Christmas Market Via LeShuttle

Join us for a fabulous festive day out in beautiful Bruges, one of Europe’s most picturesque medieval cities.

Bruges’ official Winter Glow festival runs from 20 November 2026 until 14 February 2027, so our visit falls right at the beginning of the festive season. The programme includes two Christmas markets, Christmas lights and decorations, an ice rink, winter bar, festive shopping and special winter experiences throughout the historic city.

6:00am – Depart London

MEETING POINT

How to find us

Coach bays on Tothill St SW1H 9LJ 2 minutes walk from St James Park tube Station, one stop after Victoria tube station.

Coach will be parked close to Pret A Manger and Costa Coffee

Many of you may want to book a taxi as it is an early start. We want to spend up to 5 hrs in Bruges

Please arrive approximately 15 minutes before departure for registration. We will leave promptly at 6:00am.

Approx. 7:45am – Arrive at LeShuttle, Folkestone

We will check in for our Channel crossing. Coaches are required to arrive at least 90 minutes before their booked LeShuttle departure, so there should also be an opportunity for a quick toilet/refreshment stop at the terminal.

Approx. 9:15am – LeShuttle Folkestone → Calais

Relax on board the coach as we travel through the Channel Tunnel. The crossing itself takes approximately 35 minutes.

Remember, Belgium is one hour ahead of the UK.

Approx. 12:15–12:30pm – Arrive in Bruges

Our coach will drop us at the official Bargeplein coach drop-off point. From here it is around a 20-minute walk to the Markt/Market Square, although the beautiful Beguinage is only around five minutes away.

Around 12:30pm–5:15pm – Explore Bruges

You will have plenty of free time to enjoy Bruges at your own pace.

Start with a stroll through the Minnewater/Lake of Love and Beguinage before making your way into the historic centre.

Then head towards the magnificent Markt (Market Square), surrounded by colourful historic buildings and the famous Belfry.

The traditional Christmas market is expected to return as part of Winter Glow. Visit Bruges says the festival will again feature two Christmas markets; its detailed 2026–27 market information is still being updated. The previous edition placed the main traditional market on Markt and the more craft-focused market on Simon Stevinplein.

• Christmas decorations and illuminated streets
• Independent boutiques and shops
• Historic Markt and Burg squares

• Lunch or an early dinner in one of Bruges' many restaurants

The city is transformed for Winter Glow with Christmas trees, lights and festive decorations throughout its historic streets and squares.

5:15pm – Start making your way back

We will meet back at Bargeplein ready to board our coach.

5:45pm – Depart Bruges

Please don't be late — because we have a booked Channel crossing and need to arrive at LeShuttle well in advance.

Approx. 7:15pm Belgian time – Arrive Calais/LeShuttle

Time for border formalities and check-in.

Approx. 8:45pm Belgian time – LeShuttle to Folkestone

After the approximately 35-minute crossing, we'll arrive back in the UK at approximately 8:20pm UK time.

Approx. 10:30–11:00pm – Arrive back at Tothill Street, London SW1H

Return time will depend on traffic, border processing and LeShuttle operations on the day.

Bruges is particularly beautiful during the festive season. The medieval buildings, canals and cobbled streets provide a fantastic backdrop for Christmas lights and traditional market stalls.

The official Winter Glow 2026/27 programme will include two Christmas markets, festive shopping, ice skating, a winter bar and new winter events including a light and music spectacle.
