Join us and our friends from Trans-Wa at the MVCC for a clothing swap and upcycling workshop!
Clothing Swap
Starting at 11AM we'll have clothes available for you to browse and take. These were generously donated through the Trans-Wa community closet and Path With Art.
Upcycling Workshop
Starting at 1PM we'll begin the upcycling/mending workshop facilitated by Donavan Olsen.
Our clothes are one way we tell the story of ourselves to the outside world. So what do you do when your favorite pants rip, or your favorite shirt gets a stain? This workshop explores repair techniques designed not to conceal wear and tear, but to embrace and find beauty in them. Bring a well-loved piece of clothing and learn some hand-sewing basics to patch holes, reinforce worn spots, and add some unique flair to your clothes. No previous experience required, all participants will leave with needles, thread, and a small collection of patching fabric.
