Presented by Gray Area San Diego and the Institute of Contemporary Art, San Diego, Climate in Translation: Data, Sound, and Sculpture brings together art, science, and community to explore climate change through an artistic lens. Featuring the work of artist Nathalie Miebach, known for her intricate sculptures and musical scores based on meteorological data, this event invites attendees to consider the human impact of severe weather events through visual and auditory interpretations.
The evening will include a discussion between Nathalie Miebach and ICA San Diego curator, Dr. Jordan Karney Chaim, focusing on Miebach’s current exhibition as well as her Weather Score Project in which she collaborates with emerging composers to further interpret the climate data she collects. This event serves as a platform for dialogue on climate issues, artistic innovation, and collective resilience, inviting the public to engage in meaningful conversation and reflection on our shared future.
