Climate Fest at The Englert: Community Conversation on Building a Climate-Ready Future

Addressing climate change requires collaboration across all sectors of our community. Hosted by the Community Foundation of Johnson County, this conversation will highlight the important sustainability work already underway here in Johnson County. The panel will include professionals from a range of local nonprofit organizations and businesses. Join us at the Englert to hear about recent accomplishments and current projects and to learn about future opportunities to get involved in the sustainability space.
The event will also include the opening of a week-long art installation featuring the photography work of Tyler Baird, our City Superintendent of Parks and Forestry, displayed on the Englert's gallery walls.
The Englert is just one of the thirteen organizations that will receive Climate Action Grant funds in the coming year. The Englert will upgrade its house and theatrical lighting systems to LED lights, which use far less energy than traditional incandescent lights. This lighting upgrade is part of a larger capital project the Englert plans to complete this year that includes various additional upgrades that will greatly increase the energy efficiency of the building.
