About Dr. Nkosi Muse
Originally from central New Jersey, Dr. Nkosi Muse is a meteorologist currently serving as a climate advisor to the City of Miami. He holds a PhD in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Miami, a Master's in Geosciences and Climate Policy from Georgia State University, and a Bachelor's in Meteorology from UNC Charlotte. As a PhD researcher, his work focused on the identification of climate hazards and equitable adaptation to climate hazards, most specifically extreme heat. As Vice Chair of the City of Miami's Climate Resilience Committee, he represents District 5 as an advocate for marginalized and vulnerable communities. In his time in Miami, Nkosi has also developed numerous partnerships with various non-profit and community organizations, serving as an educator on all things climate and weather, as well as communicating important topics in science to the general public.
