Ancestors: A Communal Weaving Installation invites visitors to the Ancestral Lines exhibition at the Coral Springs Museum to explore the art of contemporary weaving through the use of upcycled yarn and fabric. Central to this interactive experience is a large format loom where participants can contribute to a large-scale collaborative weaving project, blending individual creativity into a shared tapestry of connection and heritage.
This communal installation acts as a bridge to our roots, heritage, and ancestral connections, revealing the rich symbolism embedded within patterns and designs. Each thread carries a story, weaving a tapestry that links us to the lives and legacies of those who came before us.
Donated well-loved clothing, repurposed fabrics, and yarns will be used to create the weaving to celebrate culture, heritage, and the timeless art that continues to weave our stories together.
Children must be supervised by their parents or guardians.
