Climate Cafe PDX - August
Advertisement
A place to process climate related emotions with people in our community. Free and open to all.
**Masks provided and required**
Our kickoff topic is: Animals & the Environment.
The climate crisis does not only impact humankind, but the non-human neighbors we share the planet with, who may not have access to stable homes and resources as land, sea, and sky take their blows from environmental change and destruction.
💚 WHAT (IS A CLIMATE CAFE)
-An informal, open, respectful, confidential space to safely share emotional responses and reactions related to the climate and environmental emergency (i.e. a “container”).
-A space for exploration of thoughts, feelings and experiences rather than what we are DOING about the climate crisis.
-A quiet, reflective experience - a haven from usual busyness and activity.
Note: a Climate Cafe is NOT a clinical space, or a replacement for therapy.
💚 WHO (IS HOSTING THIS CAFE)
Rissa (she/her) has years of experience facilitating groups in various settings, and have an interest in climate emotions, group support structures, and the intersection of systemic issues.
Matthew (he/they) is an experienced grass-roots organizer on animal and environmental issues, and loves connecting with nature through photography and poetry.
Galen (he/him) is a longstanding member of community events across the Portland Metro Area and loves to find the joy (and puns) in things. Please ask him about Ted Lasso, it will make his day.
💚 QUESTIONS?
DM Rissa or email [email protected]
Join us! And if you can't make it this time, we host Climate Cafes monthly on the second Thursday
