Join us for an outdoor Warm Data Lab in Portland, Oregon!
About this Event

You are cheerfully invited to join us for the final Warm Data Lab in our summer series at Overlook Park in Portland, Oregon.

This is an invitation to hang out, share stories, slow down, and be together. You are welcome to arrive as you are, with all your messy complexity and whole selves, and explore the changing world we are living in.

In the shimmering depth of August, this gathering is an open invitation to commune with the living world around and within us. As the earth prepares for its next transition, we gather to explore what it means to stay connected in times of change. Families, chosen kin, friends, and solitary wanderers are all equally welcome to share this space and bring this summer afternoon to life.

In times of fragmentation, this is a place to find one another again.

This event is a standalone gathering in our three-part Portland Summer Park Series. Can't make this date, or want to join us for the others? Click to view the full series and register for the other dates: June 21, July 12, and August 9.

What is a Warm Data Lab?

Developed by Nora Bateson, a Warm Data Lab is a gathering where participants share their stories and observations about a common question. Everyone moves between small groups whenever and wherever their curiosity takes them, listening, sharing, and exploring new ways of seeing the world. In the last half-hour we come back together as one group and share what we’ve noticed, weaving together the sense we’ve been making.

Who can attend?

Warm Data Labs are suitable for all ages. Everyone is welcome and there is no need for prior knowledge or experience. Whether you're curious about Warm Data or simply looking for a place to connect with others, you belong here.

How should I prepare?

Since we are gathering outdoors, please come prepared for a relaxed, natural environment. We will be moving and sitting together, so feel free to bring a picnic blanket or a folding chair. To stay comfortable on warm summer day, we recommend bringing water, sunscreen, a hat, or anything else that helps you stay cool and shaded.

How much does it cost?

We designed our ticketing options to reflect the financial realities within our community. Here is a look into how we've structured things:

  1. Base Cost Ticket: This option helps to directly cover the hard cost of bringing this event to life (venue rental, materials, snacks).
  2. Free Ticket: It is deeply important to us that financial barriers don't keep individuals and groups of people from this space. If paying for a ticket(s) means stressing over money, please choose this option with a light heart. Your presence and energy are what matters most.
  3. Pay What You Can: This is for anyone who sits somewhere in between, or who wants to contribute a little more. If $10 feels like a stretch but you'd love to chip in $5, this option is for you. Conversely, if you are in a position to give $20 or $50 to cover more of the event cost, we welcome and appreciate that deeply.

Ultimately, this event is a collective ecosystem. Those who can contribute financially help keep the doors open, and those who join through the free tier keep our community whole. We are just glad you're here.
