Clay Wallflowers: Poppies!
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to handbuild a detailed clay poppy approximately 8 inches in diameter while exploring texture, shaping, and sculpting techniques. Each flower will have its own unique personality and style, making your finished piece truly one of a kind.
Class Details:
Duration: Approximately 2 hours
Cost: $10 instructional fee holds your seat, and the project will be paid at the workshop. We anticipate this project will cost $45 total, using around 2 lbs of clay. Larger pieces may incur an additional cost. Your fee includes this workshop, a return visit to glaze your poppy, and both firings.
Project: Handbuilding a clay poppy flower
Glazing: Includes a second visit to glaze your piece after it has been fired. Pieces will be ready to glaze within 10 days.
Glazing Availability: Come in during open studio hours to glaze your creation. We are open 6 days a week for your convenience.
Your handcrafted clay poppy can be used as:
• A wall plaque
• A tabletop decoration
• Part of a decorative flower collection
• A beautiful handmade accent for your home or garden
• An elegant votive candle holder by leaving the center open
Let your creativity bloom while enjoying a relaxed and inspiring summer workshop atmosphere. One of our creative instructors will guide you through every step, no experience required. This project is appropriate for ages 16 and up, and no previous clay experience is necessary. Teens age 13–16 may also purchase a seat if attending with a paid adult.
