About Us
We are a small group of 4 to 8 regulars who meet most Wednesdays to catch up and get stuck in.
Some of us are here for:
- the clay, the adventure and the practice;
- the easy social connection;
- the cake.
Whether you are a complete beginner or are an experienced clay enthusiast, you are welcome to join our Little Pot Production Line or to work on your own project. We have a wide range of tools and equipment so you can pinch, slab, coil, sculpt, carve etc. We also have some small but mighty Small Ceramics wheels on the Little Pot Production line, which you're welcome to join. Whatever you decide to do, instruction or causal help is always at hand if wanted.
Little Pot Production
Our Little Pot Production Line is a great way to learn and practise throwing, turning and pot doodling. Pots that make it through the firing go into the Little Pot Shop, which is helping raise money for the amazing local charity that is, Soft Touch Arts.
We use the Small Ceramics wheels because their stability and geared motors make for an authentic throwing experience. The torque is such that the wheel remains steady when you most need it to be. In fact, the Small Ceramics wheels are so good that the skills, approaches and principles that we use on them can be directly transferred to throwing bigger.
If you’ve never thrown before, just focus on getting a feel for it. The best approach is to get stuck in, get into the zone, chase your flow state, laugh at the funny bits and let the magic in.
