Clawhammer Banjo Workshop
About this Event
In this workshop we will take a look at where you currently are with your playing and focus on how to improve what you're already doing well. We will hone skills like timing, fluidity, and fretboard knowledge. Then we'll focus on these skills as we learn a new tune. We'll also explore what might be lacking and set some goals for the upcoming winter downtime.
Benny Bleu has been teaching banjo for over a decade and has taught at many esteemed camps including the Augusta Heritage Center in West Virginia. He has studied and played with many old-time visionaries including Bruce Molsky, Richie Stearns, Rachel Eddy, Judy Hyman, and Mac Benford. He is an award-winning banjo player and Clifftop finalist. His albums March of the Mollusk, Banjo Jubilations, and Banjo Meditations are focused on traditional banjo playing and his latest, When I Am a Fossil, pushes the boundaries of the possibilities of clawhammer.
All skill levels welcome. Your own 5-string banjo is required.
