Directed and produced by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Yannis Smaragdis, KAPODISTRIAS (The Governor) is a historical drama centered on Ioannis Kapodistrias, Greece’s first Governor — a visionary diplomat, distinguished European statesman, and the foundational architect of the modern Greek state. The film vividly portrays the political courage, personal sacrifice, and unwavering faith of a leader whose legacy helped shape Greece’s independence and national identity.
