💬 𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗢 is a series of screenings for international audiences, during which viewers from around the world come together to watch the latest Polish and international productions. Each meeting consists of a film screening at Kino Pod Baranami and an informal post-screening discussion at Betel Club. The event is held in English, and the films are shown either in English, or with English subtitles. The upcoming event will feature a screening of Jim Jarmusch's FATHER MOTHER SISTER BROTHER.
🗣️ The series is hosted by Krzysztof Bielski (Jagiellonian University) and Małgorzata Mączko (Kino Pod Baranami).

ℹ️ ABOUT THE EVENT:
The 𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗢 - 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗦 𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗠𝗔 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗦 group was created in October 2023, with the goal of establishing a new space for international film gatherings, which had been missing from Kraków cinemas’ repertoires. The organizers were inspired by similar initiatives that operate successfully in other European countries, and modeled the new event after the Amsterdam discussion club of the same name. Each meeting consists of a film screening at Kino Pod Baranami and an informal post-screening discussion at the partner Betel Club.

François Ozon tells the story of Meursault, a modest, unassuming clerk whose daily routine remains unbroken even by his mother's death - until a tragic incident occurs on a hot day at the beach. Ozon’s adaptation, which premiered in the Main Competition at the Venice Film Festival, is a strikingly relevant tale about the search for meaning in a world where all meaning has been lost. Spare dialogue and beautiful black-and-white cinematography - a tribute to classic cinema - create the film's unique atmosphere.
