After the cult successes making RE-ANIMATOR & FROM BEYOND with Charles Band's Empire Pictures, Stuart Gordon & Brian Yuzna decided to stray away from H.P. Lovercraft and immediately go into production on a killer doll movie. This script was written Ed Naha who they would later pen the HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS script with only a few years later.
